On April 30, 2013, The Life and Times of Jonny Valiant was released and was a huge success. With the label supporting him, he quickly began writing his debut album by pulling a few songs from his mixtapes. It was at this time that the founder of Strange Music, Tech N9ne, showed interest and signed Rittz to his label. The following year he put out another mixtape titled White Jesus: Revival. With solid support behind him, he made his first mixtape titled, White Jesus in 2011. While working with Yelawolf the fire rekindled, and Rittz started writing again. This would set in place one of the biggest strengths of his career. The collaboration with Yelawolf started a network with other artists who wanted him to be on their albums as well. In 2009, he received a random phone call from artist Yelawolf asking him to make a guest appearance on his new album, Trunk Muzik. He believed his rap career was over and was about to give up on music. With his career in financial turmoil, he was left homeless and only a few friends would allow him to stay with them. His career quickly fell flat due to the struggles of the music industry ( ). Upon winning the contest, he felt his career was taking off and would create the financial support he needed. In 2003, Rittz won the Battlegrounds Rap Competition at the local radio station, 107.9. After a while, the two had their differences and Rittz began doing solo work. The rap duo created music together for five years, but things never became professional. By the age of fifteen, Rittz and his friend, Ralo started making their own music in his parent’s basement ( Facebook bio). Early influences of Snoop Dogg, Geto Boys, and The Goodie Mob planted the seeds of desire to become a rapper. It did not take long for him to start rhyming to the beat of other artists. At the age of eight, the family packed up and moved to the northside of Gwinnett County, Georgia ( Facebook bio).Gwinnett County is where Rittz was introduced to rap music by a friend at school. He learned early in life how the industry worked and spent long hours in studios. With both parents, heavy in the rock and roll scene, Rittz was destined to become a musician. He was born into a family of musicians and both his parents encouraged him and his siblings to play instruments. It’s rare to get this kind of honesty and if it pisses you off, you're probably one of the fans the song is directed at.American Rapper Rittz was born on August 16, 1980, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. What makes “Is That That Bitch?” a must listen is because Rittz gives listeners a glimpse of the bullshit that artists face everyday. This doesn't describe all of his fans, but there are some who feel like because they hit the follow button or bought a t-shirt at a show that they're entitled to give their two cents about how (and who with) his music should be made, despite having little to no insight on the ways the industry works. Rittz does something a lot of artists are too scared to do  check entitled, opinionated fans. Ask any Rittz fan any they will say the same thing - the man keeps it real. Case in point, on “Is That That Bitch?” Rittz doesn’t just rock the boat a little, he sinks it like he’s the Battleship world champion. I came for the funky bass line, stayed for the realness. Don’t get it twisted, Rittz is way more than just a fast flow. In fact, his growling flow really helps hammer home his frustrations. “I’m No Good” is painfully personal track where the headliner wrestles with his insecurities and issues and how they affect him, and yet at no point does he sound soft or lose his edge. The same aforementioned rappers and their machine gun flows also try so hard to put on a tough guy persona, and while Rittz definitely has an aggressive side, it’s his honesty and self-reflection that I find most engaging.
